He just sat there at the table
Until his coffee went cold
He never knew he'd play a character
In one of the oldest stories told

Some folks never see it coming
And others can tell from the start

She didn't think much on the way to the station
But wondered if she was jumpin' the gun
She didn't know when it all would hit her
But she didn't shed no tear not even one

He made his way back to the bedroom
Closing the blinds along the way

Of an old run down home in a busted frame

Now everyday he checks the mailbox
